Well, break's over. Or should I say "Reading Week"? Either way, hardly any homework got done and even now I'm choosing to ignore the piles of homework that beckon to partake in Hume, Romantic poetry (as in poetry of the Romantics), describing a piece of artwork that I still need to pick, mapping out arguments from Augustine, Qoheleth, Epictetus, and Aristotle, not to mention the reading upon reading about nuns, monks, saints, and demons (i.e., History of Christianity class) and finishing a scriptures paper.
Perhaps this brings me to a reality check: meaning of my life is not found in homework, nor in pursuing the goods of this world. For earthly things will pass away, and time will wear away this weary flesh of mine. Therefore, I must hope in what does not pass away, that is Christ. For He has redeemed me, a lost and condemned person, purchased and won me from all sins, from death, and from the power of the devil; not with gold or silver, but with His holy, precious blood and with His innocent suffering and death,
that I may be His own and live under Him in His kingdom and serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness,
just as He is risen from the dead, lives and reigns to all eternity.
This is most certainly true.
